Dining Out in San Diego: Sept. 21, 2018

The Friars Mission Center shopping plaza in Mission Valley will soon be home to the third San Diego location of Wich Addiction, a gourmet sandwich shop lauded for its house-roasted meats and assorted aiolis. The eatery will replace Elva’s Bowls & Wraps, which closed Aug. 31 because of an impending 25 percent rent increase, according to proprietor Melvin Fleschman. The property is owned by Regency Centers Corporation.

Dining Out in San Diego: Dec. 8, 2017 – Jan. 11, 2018

A second San Diego location of True Food Kitchen has opened in La Jolla’s University Town Center, which recently underwent a major makeover to its gardens, plaza areas and retail spaces. The restaurant, which has an established location in Fashion Valley Mall, took over 9,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor space for the new outlet. Eco-friendly design elements include herb-filled garden basins, hardwood floors and chairs made out of recycled soda bottles.
